Bio

Eric Kuhlmann (b.1975) is an artist living on Kaurna Yerta Adelaide. Past work has included paintings, drawings, prints, computer programs, performances and interactive sculptural and digital installations. He completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Art in 2019 and a Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours) in 2020 at University of South Australia. Current research interests include the real-world physicality of virtual worlds, contested queer narratives, and the idea of community. He has exhibited at ARIs and council galleries in Adelaide, Canberra, and Sydney (2013-2022). In a previous life (2001-2014) he was a singer/songer/cabaret artist, performing at festivals such as Feast Adelaide (multiple times), Midsumma Melbourne, Pride Perth, Adelaide Fringe, Sydney Bear Pride, Newcastle TINA, Stockholm Fringe, and London Hot August Fringe. He has enjoyed helping coordinate Adelaide’s annual Pride March since 2007, making strong connections with diverse LGBTIQA+ communities.
